*What’s D-4 visa?

○ In accordance with the visa policy of the Republic of Korea Ministry of Justice, foreigners who wish to apply for the D-4 visa should enroll in an official education program in Korea for 90 days or longer. Therefore, all applicants, regardless of nationality, who plan to apply for the D-4 visa must enroll in at least 2 consecutive sessions (4 months) at the SLI.

○ Foreigners with the D-4 visa are restricted to any income generating activities in Korea. This is different to other kinds of visas such as the D-2 study visa. International students who apply for the D-4 visa are therefore required to submit proof of their financial stability (such as a bank statement) to the Korean Embassy or Korean Immigration Office. If the student's visa application is not approved by the Korean authorities, the SLI will refund the tuition except for the application fee.

○ Students' attendance is one of the most critical issues to SLI. If the attendance rate of a student is lower than 80%, his or her visa will be automatically canceled and reported to the Korean Immigration Office.
