[News] SKKU is Top 8 School in Asia’s Most Innovative Universities

SKKU was proudly nominated as top 8 school in Asia’s Most Innovative Universities of Reuters.
Asia’s Most Innovative Universities list identifies the educational institutions that are doing the most to advance science, invent new technologies, and help drive the global economy.
Top-ranked South Korea has a total of 20 schools on the list. In a order of KAIST, Seoul National University, POSTEC, Sungkyunkwan Univ., and Yonsei Univ., five schools were nominated.
Amongst the nominated schools, South Korea and Japan dominate the inaugural Reuters Top 75. Out of the top 20 universities, 17 are based in Japan and South Korea.
Topping the list as the most innovative university in Asia is KAIST, also known as Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology, which earned its first place rank by producing original and influential research. The second most innovative university in Asia is Japan’s University of Tokyo. The highest ranked school outside of Northeast Asia is the National University of Singapore (#11). China’s highest ranked university is Tsinghua University (#13). Peking University (#16) is the only other Chinese university to crack the top 20. But overall, there are 22 Chinese universities on Reuters’ ranking – more than any other country.

Reuters is an international news agency headquartered in Canary Wharf, London, England, United Kingdom. Since the agency was founded in 1851 it was a provider of financial market data. After it becamse a part of Thomson Corporation in 2008, named after Thomson Reuters, it transmits news in English, French, Arabic, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Urdu, and Chinese.
